As you know, San Jacinto is committed to seeing that one day your child will be prepared to go to college. In order to make that dream a reality, it takes good grades and the funds to attend.
A wonderful thing has occurred! San Jacinto has now been included in the “ACE” program. This is sponsored by the Amarillo Area Foundation. “ACE” stands for Achievement through Commitment to Education. ACE provides access to higher education to students by paying for tuition, fees and books for up to 130 semester hours at Amarillo College or West Texas A & M University. What does this mean for your child?
When your child graduates from Tascosa High School, he/she will be eligible for ACE Scholarship funds provided that he/she completes the criteria of being an ACE Scholar as set by the Amarillo Area Foundation. Specific requirements will be established and will be forthcoming.
Since inception, ACE has graduated 2,086 students from Palo Duro High School and Caprock High School. They have awarded over $2.2 million dollars in scholarships to students in the ACE program. They are raising funds to extend this opportunity to our students at San Jacinto. This will help provide our students in obtaining a college education which will enable them to achieve their dreams and goals. We will be emphasizing, reinforcing and recognizing students who achieve the ACE standards each six weeks. More details are to come, but we wanted to share this wonderful news with you!
There are truly “NO EXCUSES” keeping your child from attending college!
